Where We Belong: Raul Castro

“I started washing dishes for Florblanca many years ago”

Rual’s experience began at Florblanca. He was originally hired to wash dishes. In his own words, “I just came to work”. A simple beginning where Rual was willing to put in the time and effort to do his job well. Bit by bit, he learned how the kitchen functioned, how to cut vegetables, how to cook, and more. However, at the beginning, Rual didn’t even know where to start to make a delicious meal. He was just learning…

“I never stopped”. These words made me stop to think about the intentionality of this man and the love he must have for his profession to keep striving every day to be better and grow. How powerful these three simple words can be in our lives if we look at our situation from the outside in and realize that we can better our situation. Not by being stagnant, but by never stopping.

Rual’s story is one of our amazing employees’ stories. He started willing to put in time and learn and has made strides each and every day. If we can learn anything from Rual, it would be don’t be afraid of humble beginnings, because you will eventually come to harvest great fruit from them. We are extremely proud of our people at Florblanca. They carry themselves in the same way as Rual and put their lives into making your time at the resort not only enjoyable, but an experience unlike any other. We would like to invite you to meet these people we love so much because we know you will fall in love, too. Come stay with us at Florblanca, you won’t regret it. (And we won’t even make you do long division.)

Where We Belong: Stefano

“Being a father gave me the opportunity to completely open my heart.”   The spirit of Florblanca here in Costa Rica is channeled through the jungle and wildlife that envelops us, through the ocean that is ever-present, and through the people that bring all this beauty to life.  And Stefano sits at the heart and […]

With all the details of our day-to-day existence, we can easily lose the connection with our true passion, our energy, and our spirit.   This lost connection can be magnified to even greater degrees when we’re in a relationship.  The journey we’re on together loses […]
