Our community is incredibly important to us here at Florblanca. Supporting the people and programs of our community is a key part of our Sustainability Program and is a part of what makes our area of the Nicoya Peninsula so special. Belonging and community defines one of the central tenants of the life in the Blue Zones and we feel the power of this connection everyday.
We’re always evolving our Community alliances and this year has been no exception, despite the hardship we’ve felt all around the world.
This year, we’ve partnered with Casa de Restauración, a shelter in Cóbano for children and women who have experienced poverty or domestic violence. They are in need of a new piece of property to expand their shelter and together we found the perfect location. However, we need to help them raise $75,000 to purchase this property.
We’ve made it easy for anyone and everyone to contribute to help toward this goal and, in doing so, to boost our global community by showcasing our support right in the center of town. Find the Link to Donate Here!
We’re doing this through our very first Casa de Restauración Christmas tree located at Eat Street in Santa Teresa and our Buy a Star Campaign.
When you buy a star for the tree, your support goes directly to the new property fund for Casa de Restauración. The tree will be decorated with stars that represent all the donations toward the new shelter.
We look forward to seeing the tree filled with stars in hopes to shine a brighter future for these kids and women in our community.
