Fresh Food, Clean Air, Low Stress

We love it when people discover Florblanca for the first time. So when publications like AFAR Magazine help spread the word about how a visit to Florblanca will send you into the clean, healthy, low stress world of the Blue Zone, we are thrilled about the possibility of new guests coming to connect with the Pura Vida.

Florblanca Resort is included in an AFAR Magazine feature guide about Where to Experience Pura Vida in Costa Rica. As the guide reports:
Mal País-Santa Teresa, at the southern tip of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, is surrounded by wild jungle and lined with pristine beaches. Nicoya is one of five “Blue Zones,” regions lauded by scientists for the long life of their residents. It turns out that fresh food, clean air, and low stress might just be good for you.
The staff and guests at Florblanca truly appreciate our amazing Blue Zone surroundings and put forth great efforts to sustain the health of the people and the environment. We are thrilled to have received 4 out of 5 leaves in our Certificate for Sustainable Tourism and are shooting for the full 5 leaves with our most recent review.

Our efforts include local farm-to-table meals at Nectar Restaurant which helps support local farmers as well as local agriculture. We also promote eco-tourism through local adventure guides, we raise environmental awareness among our guests and staff, and engage in projects to help support our local community.
All of our efforts towards sustainability stem from the respect we have for living in such a special place. The Nicoya Peninsula is one of the world’s only Blue Zones, along with Sardinia and Okinawa, and we feel passionate about preserving those elements that make this possible.
Thank you Adam Skolnick and AFAR Magazine for including Florblanca Resort and our Blue Zone community in your feature piece. We agree clean air, fresh food and low stress is pura vida!
