The Costa Rican Summer

The Costa Rican summer is such a wonderful time to visit! But know that our summer – the time when it’s most dry, warm, and sunny – takes place during the winter months of December through March.

When planning a trip to Costa Rica, be aware that our summer coincides with winter months in the U.S. For many yearning to escape the typical cold and dreary conditions often associated with the months of December through March, and even April, a visit to Costa Rica is ideal for this time of year!
Generally during these winter months, the conditions are dry, warm, and sunny. It is not unusual to have a rain shower from time to time, but we don’t expect days of torrential washouts. In the northern parts of the country and in mountainous regions, a lightweight jacket or sweater could come in handy just in case temperatures cool off in the evening.

The high season is when tourists from all over the world flock to Costa Rica. Adding to this, our public schools are on break for their long summer vacation at this same time. Natives of Costa Rica also like to travel during the high season and enjoy all the wonderful things our country has to offer.
This is why it is so important to make your travel plans early. For the holidays of Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter, tourists and Costa Ricans alike all want to experience as much Pura Vida as possible!
And no wonder. For sun worshipers, surfers, sailors, fisherman, and nature enthusiasts, winter is the perfect time to enjoy Costa Rica’s gorgeous beaches, clear warm water, and world-class waves. Schedule your winter get-away at Florblanca Resort today!
