Tortuga Island Adventure

During your stay along the Nicoya Peninsula, we encourage you to take advantage of one of our local excursions. A favorite among Florblanca guests is the daylong adventure to Tortuga Island. It is the perfect opportunity to explore the area’s natural beauty and see some remarkable wildlife.

Worry-free transportation is provided from the resort to the private Curu wildlife refuge, which has become a successful project in sustainable agriculture, forest management, and wildlife protection.

Upon your arrival, a local guide will lead you on an easy trek through the trails. Have your camera ready since you will likely cross paths with some of Costa Rica’s most famous residents. Just at Curu, 232 species of birds have been accounted for, including Scarlet macaws, white-fronted amazons, and laughing hawks. In addition to the amazing birdlife, expect to spot a variety of mammals such as howler monkeys, anteaters, pumas, and ocelots.

After your hike, it’s time for a scenic boat trip to the pristine waters and spectacular white sand beaches of Tortuga Island. Here you’ll have the chance to swim, snorkel, or just relax under the palms of this amazing island paradise.
After so much fun, you will have worked up a hearty appetite. As you enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch of local favorites, you’ll wonder why the food at home has never tasted quite this good!
