Seasonal Weather in Costa Rica

Thinking of making a visit to the Florblanca Resort, but not sure which season is best suited to your needs?

Along Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, the weather is typically warm, balmy, and pleasant throughout the year. Depending on which activities you are interested in pursuing during your trip, some months may be better choices than others. Before making a packing list, you’ll want to consider the weather and seasons in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.

November through mid-April

This is usually when the weather is the driest. There is ample sunshine, very little humidity and the nights are agreeably cool. The foliage this time of year is lush and green. Although a rain shower may pop up from time to time, during this season they are short-lived and give way to clear blue skies and beautiful sunshine. For anyone with a desire to escape those months of cold, winter weather, windy March or damp April, this is a the best time to be in Costa Rica!

Late April through August

Known as the “Green Season”, late evening and nighttime showers are a possibility. This does not spoil anyone’s fun, however. It’s a great season for nature lovers to witness a Costa Rican spring. Plant life bursts forth and envelops the Nicoya Peninsula in breathtaking foliage and brilliant colors. Because it is a less busy time of year, visitors to Florblanca can take advantage of the lower prices offered during our Green Season Specials.

September and October

This is perhaps the ideal choice for those interested in rejuvenation and solitude. Our “Rainy Season” is when you can truly live like a local and begin to understand the true meaning of “pura vida.” It may rain heavily from time to time, but that doesn’t stop the fun! In fact, there are still plenty rain-free moments each day. However, the opportunity to curl up with a good book or nap to the sound of raindrops is a wonderful way to recharge your battery before yet another adventure in Santa Teresa.

Of course you may contact us with more questions in regard to the specific dates of your trip. We will be happy to help you plan what to bring and offer suggestions for how to get the most from your stay at Florblanca.
